My Goals for August

After a relatively productive month in July, it is time to see what I would like to achieve in August.

My main goal will be to add the binding to my Jocelyn Proust quilt, once it comes back to me from my quilting fairy.
I'm really looking forward to finishing this one off.

I am enjoying this challenge to work on a UFO or dig out an unstarted project that has been waiting in the wings.
This month I have dug really deep.  I bought a metre of the two floral fabrics and then saw a pattern in Australian Patchwork and Quilting and subsequently added the two green fabrics.
The magazine is dated 2005 and the fabrics are a little older.
I think it is about time this quilt came to fruition.  I don't plan on adding the applique, but we will see how it evolves.

I should be able to add at least one item, and hopefully more, to the tally this month.

4.    CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE
I would like to add to my little stitchery collection.

This Friday evening will see lots of girls stitching away together.  Hopefully, my evening will be very productive.

6.    OTHER PROJECTS IN THE BACKGROUND

Those bibs are still awaiting their snaps and there are still more in the wings waiting to be stitched.  I still have to make some more pencil cases and I still have to make some face masks.  Let's see how much I get done.

Now for my non stitching goals.  These are pretty much the same each month.

1.    READ A BOOK

This must happen this week, as I have a library book due to be returned by the end of the week.

2.    TRY A NEW RECIPE

I really enjoy finding something new to try.

3.    FRIDAY FUN DAY

As Mick is hoping that his work will slow down shortly, we should be able to do some little thing - all subject to change, given the current environment.

4.    HAVE A WEEKEND AWAY IN THE CARAVAN

We'll see.  Having had a couple of plans cancelled, we may see if we can sneak away somewhere quiet for a weekend.

Now I'd better get to it, or I won't get everything done.

you are so well organized!!

I love the trellis quilt - I made that one ages ago - a lot later than 2005 - and I was lucky to have a border fabric that I could use - eliminating the need for the applique.

Good Luck with all your goals - and I hope to catch you on Friday night - since we are not supposed to be out & about!

Love the fabric and design of your new project. The applique border looks so pretty, if a it daunting. My solution, for the quilt in our caravan, was to use wide ric rac for the wavy vine, the applique flowers along the way. I didn't bother with lots of little leaves.

Fantastic fabric with purple and yellow flowers with words! It will be a lovely quilt!
Congratulations on a near finish awaiting quilting. It will be like Christmas I bet to get it back from the quilter.
