The weren't large but they had some wonderful produce.
Mick was taken with the cigar box guitars.
We bought figs from this couple. Yummo.
Apple and Walnut sourdough scrolls from this stall.
After our wander we headed off towards the Yarra Valley via the town of Yea. A wander up and down the street was required and we found a rather sweet little shop down a side alley, called "Nice". It was rather nice too.
Lots of nice things could have found their way home if we had the room.
I was rather taken with these tiles too.
We then followed the road south, through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and kept going until we could go no further without getting wet. There was no rhyme or reason to our route and we ended up at Mordialloc, which had a kiosk with good coffee and a nice long pier to walk along.
As we rode along Mick noticed some bathing boxes. Of course we pulled over to have a look. It turns out they are the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes. This was a very happy surprise, as for some reason I thought that Brighton was on the Mornington Peninsula. It goes to show how little I know about Victoria.
Yes, we were to hop on a big boat.
There are 128 bikes on the ferry, with a total of about 5,000 sailing to Tassie over a two week period.
We enjoyed a lovely sunset and twilight scenery as we left Melbourne.
Looks like a very special "biker" holiday for you two over in Tassie! I'll be reading with interest, as we took a Tasmania holiday many years ago so I'm sure it will rekindle lots of my memories.
