For something different, today we went on a little day trip.
We headed about 40kms south to Berry Springs thermal pools. What a beautiful spot.
There are three pools. We started at the top one, which is fairly small and shallow, but features a lovely waterfall.
You can even get behind it. Something that Mick did, but I left him to it, just volunteering to take the photo.
We then walked a little downstream to the main pool. This is the largest and most popular, but not crowded by any means. I am now quite comfortable floating around on my noodle, despite the water being very deep, so we wallowed there for quite a while.
By then it was lunch time, so a visit to the little kiosk was in order to buy a sandwich. There is a large area in which you can picnic, with lots of tables and barbecues provided.
After lunch, we ventured down to the lower pool, which was a bit smaller than the main one, but quieter. We wallowed there for about an hour, emerging quite prune like. At times there were only five people in the entire pool. You can’t get a much more relaxing way to spend the day.
Upon returning to the van, we considered our options for the evening - another night market, speedway racing or just stay home at the van. Staying home won out.
The highlight of the day was definitely wallowing in the springs.
Looks like a very relaxing day.

ReplyDeleteGood to have the relaxing days amongst the busier ones, bit more like a holiday that way.
