Trail Mix Progress and Friday Night With Friends

As I've mentioned in my last post, my One Monthly Goal for August was to complete 60 blocks in my Trail Mix quilt, which would mean I had half the quilt completed.

Last Saturday I spent all day working on it, thanks to Chookyblue who hosted another Zoom Party.  I logged in just before 9 o'clock in the morning, and apart from lunch and a couple of other brief breaks, I stitched and chatted until 7 o'clock in the evening.  It was such a fun day, oh, and rather productive.  Mick, the barista, kept me in sustenance.

It didn't take me all that long to get the rest of the blocks completed, so on Monday evening I was able to lay them out and finally see how it is going to look.

So, my goal has already been met.  I've very happy about that.  Any more progress is now a bonus.
I think I like it.  Lucky that.....

Yes, I realise two blocks are back to front, but they aren't stitched in place and I have now swapped them to their correct position.  I am waiting to get all the blocks completed before I do their final placement, as I have since added a few more fabrics to the mix.

Last night was Friday Night With Friends, hosted by Cheryll.

As you can probably guess, I've kept going on Trail Mix.
I'm trying to be rather organised, and have a little production line going.  It is working really well.
This is where I am up to now.  Last night I stitched the 16 nine-patch blocks I need, and worked on the four patches on the red board.  However, I had only cut half as many as I needed, so got the rest prepared last night. I think it is a very real aim to actually have all the blocks completed this month.  We'll see how we go, remembering I have other goals to work on as well.

Pop over to Cheryll's blog to see what the other girls got up to.

  10. Nice progress. Good job staying on track. I like to plan out my ironing, but sometimes I make a mistake. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt flimsy.
