April One Monthly Goal

It is time to select a goal for the month of April.

Our April is going to be rather busy, so I need to select something achievable.

Having said that, next weekend we're off to Baradine for the Scrub Stitchin' retreat.  That of course means that I will have over two days of full time stitching.  So, here is my goal........

Last year, when we were at Nundle, I spied this quilt hanging on the wall of Kerry's shop.  I liked it.  I bought the kit.  I haven't done anything with it, because I had to finish some other projects first.

Well, I've finished the two main quilts, so it is time to bring this one to the front of the pile.  I plan to add a couple of borders to make it a more practical size for us. Since this photo was taken I cut a lot of the required pieces, so I'm ready to get stuck in to make the blocks.  Then I'll cut the setting triangles and borders.

My goal - get the quilt top pieced at the retreat.  The bonus, if my goal is achieved, is that I can send it home with Julie for her to quilt it.  Let's see how I go.

In the background, but not part of my official goal, is to make my three RSC blocks.  Once the colour is announced, I'll pull my fabric and take it to retreat as well, but I'm not really expecting to get them done on the weekend.

I've been hoping to get one old UFO completed each month, but I'm not sure if that will happen this time, but you never know, I may get enthused on something.

I'm linking up with Elm Street Quilts.  Pop over to see the other goals.

  1. A lovely kit to have ready to sew at your retreat... Good luck as I know you'll be having lots of fun chatting and catching up with your friends but it would be a bonus to send it home with Julie to quilt.....
