This is my dad (on the right) and my uncle with their mum, ready to go off to war. Uncle Jim served in the Northern Territory when Darwin was bombed and then went to Borneo and Japan in the aftermath, while Dad went to Singapore and became one of the many POWs. Fortunately, they both came home.
This morning Mick and I attended the Dawn Service and this afternoon I took Mum out to the wreath laying at the site of the army training camp, just out of town, where Dad trained.
Lest we forget.
