The time has come to farewell my beloved Mum.
She had a fall a few weeks ago and was initially doing OK, but then, while we were in Queensland, started to deteriorate quickly. She passed away peacefully on Monday 30 June 2025 at the age of 95.
Our friends in Queensland were able arrange a flight home for me, at short notice, and I was able to spend some time with her. I was with her when she passed.
Mum was extremely confused in her mind towards the end and had no quality of life. She is now in a much better place.
Her passing will leave a huge hole in my heart, and of all those who knew this kind, gentle lady.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. It doesn't seem to matter how old you are or how long ago it was, the death of your mother is a pain that never really heals. But it does get better. My mom died in 2016. Praying for you.

ReplyDeleteOh, so glad you were able to get back in time to be with her before she had passed. For me, the hole in your heart stays, but you kind of get used to it being there. My confused Mom passed similarly a couple of weeks after a fall 4 years ago this month. I still miss her, but I do appreciate the fact that she is no longer suffering. Condolences and prayers are with you, Janice!
